What kind of bakery are you?

We are a plant based bakery, specializing in vegan baked goods inspired by traditional Hong Kong bakeries and our favorite childhood treats. No animal products are used in our baked goods. We do not use traditional butters, milks, creams, eggs, lard, artificial additives, or preservatives in our offerings. Instead we choose to use plant based ingredients derived from fruits, beans, nuts, seeds, vegetables, and grains. Most fillings and butters are made from scratch on the weekly and we use seasonal ingredients in our bakes.

How do you operate?

We do 2-3 bakes a month, pop up style! This is mainly a 1 person operation with family help and takes a full week of production for each bake. 2-3 Saturdays we pop up and offer pre-orders primarily and have a limited amount of pastries for walk in. In the new year, we switched to a mostly pre-order system. We recognized our system needed a change and hope the pre-orders improves your experience in receiving our treats with more ease and certainty. Why do you do just one bake a week?

Its a bit odd, we know! This is the best I can offer being mostly a solo production team. My partner and family helps on the weekend. Another question we get often is how do you survive? The truth is that we are baking here purely for the love of baking! We are learning and figuring it out day to day here. This is the best I can offer without losing the joy and creativity in the process.

Where are you located?

We are based in Saratoga, California.

Do you have a storefront we can go to?

Come find us on most Saturdays at 14572 Big Basin Way, Saratoga, CA, 95070 from 12-4pm! We are a pop up bakery, please check our Instagram for our opening days.

What happens in the days leading up to Saturday?

It takes approximately 50+ hours to operate from the mixing, fillings, shaping, shopping, cleaning, recipe development, to online inquiries just done by one person. On the weekend, family helps for the day. All butters and most fillings are made in house with plant based ingredients weekly. Each week starts with preparations done on Mondays and work is done every day till Saturday. In addition to the bakery, I tend to two little ones and am a part time student.

Can you do custom cake orders or gluten free?

Not at the moment. We are limited in our production capacity, we hope to in the future!

Do you ship?

Due to the short shelf life, we are unable to ship at this time. Our treats are typically baked the day of the event and the shelf life is best enjoyed within 2 days.

Are you nut free? oil free? sugar free?

We are not. All of our products typically contain avocado oil, coconut oil, grapeseed oil, and organic cashews. We use organic cane sugar for all our baked goods. Depending on the treat, they may contain nuts. Please let us know if you have any specific allergens.

What kind of products do you use in your treats?

We use organic ingredients whenever possible! Organic coconut oil, organic cane sugar, organic soy milk, organic cashews, and organic flour is the base of many of our treats. We also use fair trade chocolate and rainforest alliance certified.

Do you make your own fillings or butter?

Yes! We make all of our fillings, with exception of the chocolate hazelnut spread, from scratch. We also make our own vegan butter using organic cashews, organic coconut oil, and organic soy milk for our cookies and croissant treats.
